I’ve been seeing this everywhere, and I just wanted to chime in on it because it’s a misrepresentation.
Yeah, that’s what the White House website looked like eight years ago. But it’s more accurate to compare the new site with the most recent revision of the old one:
This is the way whitehouse.gov most recently looked under the Bush administration. I’m all for slamming the the dude’s ineptitude when it comes to issues of technology, but let’s try to keep it real, people.
“The bottom line is this: for someone who loves making things on the web, spending 100% of the time blogging about what other people are making is simply untenable.”—Gina Trapani on leaving Lifehacker (via 43folders) (via marco)
How funny is that? Weren’t we just talking about this yesterday?
You just have to do the best job you can. That’s all. You just have to keep trying to do the best job you can and hope that someone takes notice. But, if they don’t you can’t let that get you down. Everyone has an audience. You just have to find yours. That’s all really. So, what if no one will give you a grant to make your film? Who cares? Stop Bitching. Just make your film. Take out a loan. Go into debt. Just make it.
Oh, cry me a river. They didn’t mention your show in a write up about the company. Who cares? Their loss! Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep your head up. Eyes on the prize. Quality over negativity.
Just keep making stuff and keep going forward and just keep going. No matter what. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Don’t get down. Chin up. Trust your gut. Trust your gut. Trust your gut.
Go. Go. Go. The rest of the world will catch up to you one day.
The secret is entirely consistency and momentum. Jog every day and you eventually become a runner. If people don’t get it, it’s only because they never tried. The unknown scares them, and they can’t figure out for the life of them why it doesn’t scare you, too.
it’s been a while, and now i’m getting worried. there really is no other TV series that i watch. D8 ( should there be? )
I’ve been wondering the same thing, I am also worried. Love that show.
I all wanted was to love that show. I was such a huge fan of Wonderfalls and was so excited about Pushing Daisies. The whole concept is just amazing.
But, try as I might, I just couldn’t get into it. The execution was just lacking. Whereas Wonderfalls was genuinely quirky, Daisies always seemed like it was trying so hard to charm me. It was very “look at what a fanciful fairytale this is! Look how adorable this is every single moment!” Eventually, I was like “ENOUGH, DUDES, I GET IT. YOU ARE CUTE LIKE BEANIE BABIES.”
I really want Lee Pace to land in something else major, though. He’s awesome.
“Yeah, well, I’ve got a dream too. But it’s about singing and dancing and making people happy. That’s the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with. And, well, I’ve found a whole bunch of friends who have the same dream. And it kind of makes us like a family.”—Kermit the Frog
I’m currently looking for a new gig/freelance work. Since most of my Tumblr followers know me, you’ll probably know what sort of things I rock out at: editing, motion graphics, writing, and segment production.
After two years of being ‘okay’ with my day job and living for my free time, I need to move to a place where creative work is being done and people dig what they do.
If you know anywhere that I’d fit, or if you’d like a resume/portfolio/information, email me.
